Lenise Martin III, 36, has been charged with unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity, and tampering with property, after filming a copycat video in a supermarket in Belle Rose, Louisiana.

Someone recorded Martin pulling a carton of Blue Bell ice cream from a freezer, opening it, licking the frozen dessert and poking it with his finger before putting it back on the shelf, Cavalier said.

"It is illegal", the spokesman told WAFB.

"We do know that he paid for a container that was identical to the one that he did lick and we could not find it on the shelf", said Cmdr.

'We do not intend to pursue charges against her as an "adult" and therefore what happens from here is at the discretion of the juvenile justice system. The company thinks it found the compromised ice cream but removed all half-gallon Tin Roof products from the store, she said.

Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office Commander Lonny Cavalier told CNN that Martin, who showed officials receipts that suggested he had purchased the ice cream, said those don't absolve him of his crime.

Lufkin police in East Texas identified a juvenile in the original video, the department said Friday, but declined to charge her with an adult crime and did not release her name because she is under 17.

"We believe it's a copy cat incident", Cavalier said.

In a July 4 tweet, Golden said she bought and took home the ice cream.

The Keller Public Safety Facebook page reassured residents that their holiday ice cream would be completely saliva free, saying in part, "The only Blue Bell Ice Cream being licked here in Keller this holiday weekend will be the kind you've already purchased".

Saliva can pose serious health risks.

A Texas police department posted a photo of Corporal Clark and Officer Bryans also protecting their local ice cream aisle. You can call it Flu Bell ice cream now 'cause I was a lil sick last week.
