Following the release of the video from the French Government, many reacted on social media to criticise her attempt to involve herself in proceedings.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared the video, saying that Trump should bring a "qualified diplomat" to the summit.

The awkward exchange doesn't appear to have affected President Trump's decision to keep Ivanka close at hand - she was in attendance once again when the POTUS made history by crossing through the peninsula's Demilitarised Zone and into North Korea. "It hurts our diplomatic standing when the president phones it in [and] the world moves on", she tweeted.

In a moment captured at the G20 summit, we see President Trump's daughter attempting to engage with a group of world leaders: Canada's Justin Trudeau, France's Emmanuel Macron, the U.K.'s Theresa May, and Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund.

Ocasio-Cortez - nearly certainly for the benefit of her many followers on social media - ripped into Ivanka Trump and claimed that "being someone's daughter actually isn't a career qualification". "Ivanka could have been a bar-tender 18 months ago", Morgan, the former "America's Got Talent" judge and "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant wrote.

Not allowing Morgan to have the last word, Ocasio-Cortez argued that in fact, the government would be far better off if more lawmakers and public servants had experience "actually working for a living".

"Imagine if more people in power spent years of their lives actually working for a living", she continued.

California congressman Ted Lieu, a frequent critic of Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, took the opportunity to question why the president's family members were attending diplomatic functions.

"Ivanka Trump is not on the National Security Council - she is not an adviser on the issues being discussed", Michael McFaul told the New York Times.

Ivanka Trump was front and centre during the trip, and the first of her family to touch down in the United Kingdom, representing the family at many events during the three-day visit. Can you forward the below video to her and ask for her response?

With that mic drop, Sanders has officially completed her White House duties.
