Obviously, there will be in-app purchases, but those will be entirely optional.

Nintendo's reimagining of Dr. Mario for mobile finally has a launch date after being announced earlier this year.

Dr. Mario World is the revival of one of Nintendo's oldest Mario-branded ventures, Dr. Mario having been originally released on the NES. Diamonds can be used to continue a stage, get new items, or restore stamina. At first glance, this might sound rather trivial, but you'll find that each puzzle configuration of viruses must be cleared using a limited number of capsules, so you'll have to plan ahead to be successful.

Match capsules with viruses and watch them disappear!

Dr Mario World is a match-three puzzler where you need to use pills to eliminate all the viruses.

Dr. Mario World can also be played together with friends and family around the world. If you've ever played Candy Crush Saga, you pretty much know what you're getting from Dr. Mario World, as it follows virtually the same formula.

"Hundreds of stages over many different worlds ... with new worlds coming on a regular basis!" Players can earn and receive stamina-giving hearts from friends and use the hearts to play Stage Mode. Pre-registrations for Dr. Mario World have started on the App Store.

Outside of the traditional single-player mode, you can also challenge other players in real-time, head-to-head matches.
