A deal worth £22m is said to have been finalised with Chinese side Dalian Yifang but the move needs to be rubber stamped by the club's president before an official announcement is made.

If reports are to be believed then the Gunners are closing in on Yannick Carrasco and the transfer could be wrapped up as early as this month.

The 25-year-old moved to Dalian Yifang of the Chinese Super League from Atletico Madrid in February 2018, along with teammate Nicolas Gaitan, the former joining for a fee in the region of €30m.

Carrasco would certainly be a solution to that problem, the ex-Genk man can play on either flank and is full of pace and trickery which makes him a handful for defenders and leaves more space for other attackers.

"Arsenal is defining for Carrasco from Dalian Yifang", Schira wrote on Twitter.

The Belgian winger has revealed one club in particular is chasing him - but refused to say if it is Unai Emery's Arsenal.

However, after failing to land Champions League football for the third consecutive season, they will reportedly only have £40m to spend, while the rest of the money will be met via players sale and a portion of revenue.

Carrasco is also capable of playing as a wing-back, which would be useful for Emery is he persists with playing three at the back.

'I am aware that I am an important player for the team but I hope they let me leave. From a personal and family point of view, I would like to return to Europe'. "I have become a lot more mature and have learned a lot".

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with the Gunners on a number of occasions in the past and almost made the move to the Premier League in January.
