That's not hard to imagine in the slightest given John Cena's reputation and some of his previous roles, but that'll nonetheless make him a good fit for the next Fast and Furious movie. A few months ago, Vin Diesel teased the very strong possibility of John Cena joining the franchise he [Diesel] has helped cultivate since 2001. The first of these, the delectable looking Hobbs & Shaw, featuring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba (be still my beating heart) drops in just a few weeks on August 2nd. But if Johnson must sit out the next installment in the main franchise, Cena is as good a choice to replace him as any - in fact, better than most we could think of, given that he's diligently proven his talent. Cena could conceivably play either one; he began his acting career in action films like 12 Rounds, but eventually found a nice groove in the comedy world, appearing in films like Trainwreck, Sisters, and playing one of the leads in last year's Blockers.

According to Deadline, Cena's character is being described as a "badass" ... but additional details are being kept under wraps. We know, we know: John Cena?

Dan Casey is writing the screenplay from a story by Justin Lin.
