Single lottery ticket wins $530 million jackpot

About $530 million wealthier - or a cash option payout of $345.2 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot is more than half a billion dollars.

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday night, so now the pot has climbed to $530 million.

Officials announced Saturday that the fourth Mega Millions jackpot of the year was over after somebody's lucky ticket matched the winning numbers of: 17, 19, 27, 40, 68 and the gold Mega Ball 2.

44 states take part in the Mega Millions lottery, in addition to Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.

The jackpot had been rolling since it was last won in Missouri on March 12.

The Mega Millions jackpot is on the rise again. Since then, 24 twice-weekly drawings have been held without a jackpot victor.

There were two other tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Mega number.

· There were 571,683 tickets sold that won at least $4 in the drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Sorrento Deli Mart, located a short walk from the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Three other tickets matched the five white balls and will win $1 million each.

For the lowest prize of $2, players must match the Mega Ball number.
