Real Madrid have agreed a deal to sign Luka Jovic from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt on a six-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday.

Do you think Jovic is a good signing for Real?

He said the deal was good for the German club, who originally signed Jovic on a two-year loan from Portuguese club Benfica and took up an option for a permanent move in April after Barcelona showed interest in the Serb who has also scored his first worldwide goal this season.

"The player remains linked to the club during the next six seasons, until June 30, 2025".

Real Madrid transfer news: How could Los Blancos line up after the summer window?

"We've benefited not only from his goals over the past two years", Frankfurt director Fredi Bobic said.

Jovic, considered one of the hottest young prospects in European football, scored 27 goals in all competitions in 2018/19, helping Frankfurt to the Europa League semi-finals and a seventh-place finish in the Bundesliga.

"Form a sporting point of view, Luka Jovic is a big loss for us", he said.

"But for us it was clear that there is a financial threshold".

'He has the best qualifications for a great career.

He joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2017 and played a crucial role in lifting the Cup in his first season, netting the goal that sent his team to the final. "We are proud to have helped him on his way", he said.

Eintracht have made a massive profit on the 21-year-old as they only trigged a purchase option in his loan deal from Benfica for a reported €6m in April.

Despite Real Madrid's obvious problems this season, one player who has been able to hold his head high through most of the campaign has been striker Karim Benzema.

Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane is now expected to shift his attention to Eden Hazard whose services the Spanish giants are pursuing this summer.
