Google's Cloud Computing Engine and Cloud Networking services began experiencing issues as of 4 p.m. ET, according to the status page on company's website. Level 3 is a massive, business-facing, wholesale ISP used by many cloud hosting services.

According to Down Detector, which logs outages and service interruptions, the outages appear to be primarily clustered along the East Coast of the United States as well as in parts of South America and Europe.

"The network congestion issue affecting Google Cloud, G Suite, and YouTube is resolved for the vast majority of users, and we expect a full resolution in the near future", the team stated in the past few minutes.

Google is right now recovering from a multi-hour outage that knocked several of its internet services offline for unlucky netizens on Sunday.

The outage is a black eye for Google's attempts to portray itself as the most reliable cloud computing service during its Google Cloud Next event in April.

As of 1:21pm PT, Google said that engineers were working to mitigate the issues and promised to share more details by 2pm PT. Meanwhile, people have been reporting on social media that multiple "smart home" apps that would usually link to the cloud have also been affected.

Google said on a status page that it is investigating the issue and expects and update around 6 p.m. Sunday. Users may see slow performance or intermittent errors. "We will provide an update at 16:00 US/Pacific".
