Under Gove's plan, a 1,330-pound ($1,6880) fee would be waived for the around three million European Union citizens who may be eligible for naturalization in 2021 because they resided in the United Kingdom when the referendum was held in June 2016, Sky reported.

The out-and-out favourite, so popular with the Tory grassroots - polling for the Times showed he is the first choice of 39% of them, with Dominic Raab trailing him on 13% - that it would be hard for MPs to not make Johnson one of the final two.

He added: "I want to hear what Boris Johnson says over the course of the campaign".

The EU has insisted that unless all three are settled, the bloc will refuse to discuss a future relationship with London, running the risk that the United Kingdom will crash out without a withdrawal agreement in place. She too wants to leave at the end of October, with or without a deal.

When Sky's Adam Boulton asked the Tory MP whether Nigel Farage was his leader, he responded: "My leader will be elected soon, and that leader has a duty to bring together a coalition of people who believe in Brexit".

Along with the hard-line eurosceptic European Research Group, Arlene Foster's party have proven major obstacles in getting any Brexit deal through Parliament.

Mr Juncker told CNN: "What I don't like in the British debate is it seems more important to replace the Prime Minister than to find an agreement among themselves".

Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Hunt also warned the Conservatives would be "annihilated" and "face extinction" if there was a general election before Brexit happened.

"The already elevated degree of uncertainty around Brexit may rise further in the coming months and will continue to weigh on the British economy".

"Easy lies and false simplicities got us into this mess".

Andrea Leadsom, the former leader of the Commons, is hardline in her Brexit stance, like Johnson and Raab, but is not seen as a front-runner.

"But I don't think we should necessarily turn this into a generational matter".

On Brexit: Javid voted "Remain" in the 2016 referendum but was previously considered a eurosceptic.

"We should not be having a general election at this point". Many Brexit supporters oppose it because of a "backstop" that requires Britain to adopt some European Union rules indefinitely unless a future arrangement is found to keep open the land border between Northern Ireland and Ireland.

"I think it would be a huge mistake".

"If the European Union doesn't want to negotiate any changes - which I think would be unfortunate and I think would be quite surprising - then I think that of course does increase the chance of a no-deal exit", Fox said during a trade visit to Egypt.
