After four years since the first announcement of its development, Square Enix has finally released a brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake, revealed yesterday during Sony Playstation's State of Play broadcast.

The clip ends with Cloud encountering the villainous Sephiroth. We also get a shot or two of AVALANCHE leader Barrett and his fellow eco-terrorists Jessie and Biggs. All of the characters now sport fully voiced dialogue. It looks both gorgeous and bombastic. "So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game". That has caused some consternation among fans, with some wanting a complete identical remake of the original with new graphics, while others want the original game untouched, claiming that it's ideal the way it is.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was previously confirmed a few years ago to be told across multiple parts, which obviously differs greatly from the original 1997 version.

To go along with the trailer, Square Enix dropped this statement from Tetsuya Nomura on Twitter: "Most of the plans are already in place in the run up to launch, so please bear with us a little longer until we can release more information next month".

Way back in 2015, during one of Sony's best E3 presentations to date, Final Fantasy VII Remake was officially announced.

Square Enix have promised more will be shown of the game in June, nearly certainly at E3.
