On Monday, Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported that Iran's President Hassan Rouhani may announce on Wednesday "counteractions against US' withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)".

The U.S. announced last week it would no longer waive sanctions against countries that buy Iranian oil - another blow to Iran.

Netanyahu's comments came after Wednesday announcement by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani that Iran would stop complying with two of its commitments under the Iranian nuclear deal.

In a statement on Sunday night, Bolton said the move was meant to "send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attacks on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force".

However, the White House said Sunday it would dispatch an aircraft carrier and a bomber wing to the Persian Gulf over what it described as a new threat from Iran.

Axios reports that senior Israeli officials said Israel supplied intelligence to the White House on an alleged Iranian plot to attack USA interests in the Persian Gulf.

Under the 2015 accord, Iran restricted the capacity of its uranium enrichment program in exchange for a lifting of most global sanctions.

Sergey Lavrov criticized the USA during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif, who personally brought a letter from his government informing Russian Federation about Tehran's latest decision on the nuclear agreement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, In a Memorial Day ceremony, held Wednesday, at Mt. Herzl, said: "This morning, on my way here, I heard that Iran intends to pursue its nuclear program" He added. Such reactors produce plutonium that can be used in nuclear weapons.

Mr Rouhani also said any referral to the United Nations Security Council would be met with a "firm response", without specifying what this would entail - while stressing Tehran's willingness to negotiate. That halted the promised global business deals and dealt a heavy blow to Iran's already anemic economy.

A French presidential source said the European countries did not yet know precisely what steps Iran was now planning, but they could have to reimpose sanctions on Iran if those steps amount to reneging. A USA official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters, said American troops at land and sea could be targeted.

"We call on all relevant parties to exercise restraint, strengthen dialogue, and avoid escalating tensions", he said, adding that China "resolutely opposes" unilateral United States sanctions against Iran.

On Friday, the United States acted to force Iran to stop producing low-enriched uranium and expanding its only nuclear power plant. Iran will also stop selling enriched uranium within the 60 days. That's compared to the 10,000kg of higher-enriched uranium it once had.

So far, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna has confirmed in a series of reports that Iran has upheld its side of the bargain by significantly reducing its nuclear activities. However, once a country enriches uranium to around 20%, scientists say the time needed to reach 90% is halved.
