The invitation-only event will take place Monday in the White House Rose Garden, spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

He has played with keen golfer Trump in the past, with the US President posing for a picture with Woods and Jack Nicklaus on course, which was posted to his Twitter account in February.

Woods's career was nearly ended by a serious back injury, before a spinal fusion two years ago proved successful and allowed him to make a comeback.

Much like when last year's U.S. Open was held in NY, it appears Tiger Woods will be staying on his "dinghy" while in town for the PGA Championship later this month.

"Hey, Daniel", Woods says in the video.

Woods is a longtime Trump golf buddy, despite Cheeto demonstrating he is nothing short of a white supremacist with his hateful rhetoric and actions. Many believed his career was over after a series of serious injuries.

Woods' victory marked his first Masters victory in 14 years, after a series of back problems and personal problems threatened to end his career. "I know you're going through a hard time".

No word yet on whether Woods and Trump will exchange Bethpage Black tip. One of golf's greatest players, Phil Mickelson returns for a shot at the title along with two-time Wells Fargo champ, Rory McIlroy.

Varner said he texted Woods his displeasure about him skipping the Wells Fargo Championship - especially since he learned the PGA Tour had plans to group them together for the first two rounds. Tiger is chasing Jack Nicklaus' major championship record. Woods won the 2002 U.S. Open there and finished in the top 10 in 2009 when Lucas Glover won.

"I had serious doubts after what transpired a couple years ago".

"And meanwhile thinking, 'OK, let's just focus on my game.' But also, I've got to know the scenarios".

"I had scheduled America this week, but I just thought as a Chinese player it is more important to play here", said the highest-ranked player in the 156-man field.
