After a 25C blazing Good Friday, temperatures will continue climbing, hitting 26C on Saturday, 27C on Bank Holiday Monday and 28C on Tuesday, the Met Office said.

Ms Roberts said that these last two temperatures are "the ones to keep an eye on, and could be broken" this weekend. Clouds will partially clear late afternoon from west to east.

The heaviest rain is expected to be finished by Sunday, but some showers could persist and dampen outdoor activities. Rather cloudy over western areas with the risk of some rain at times.
