The moon is officially going to be full at 7:12 a.m. EST on Friday, so it will look full on Thursday night and completely full on Friday.

For those in the Eastern Time Zone, the full moon will rise at about 8 p.m. on Friday and set around 7 a.m. the next morning, Space.com reports.

But a mini heatwave isn't the only thing Mother Nature is blessing us with, as a fancy Pink Super Moon is also on the horizon. This also heralds the appearance of the "moss pink", or wild ground phlox, which is one of the first spring flowers.

The first full Moon of the year is sometimes known as the Wolf Moon, leading to January's super blood Moon being named the Super Blood Wolf Moon.

The Pink Moon will look slightly bigger than normal because the moon will be three days' pass perigee - the nearest location of natural satellite such as moon to Earth - so it will be nearly like a "supermoon". It will look like any other full moon when it rises this weekend.

Reports, however, said the full moon will not appear pink as its name suggests. Other names given to this moon are Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and the Fish Moon.

Here's everything you need to know. In June, the full moon will be called Strawberry Moon.

And The Royal Observatory Greenwich added: "Over time, different cultures have given names to full moons across the lunar calendar". The May full moon is known as the Flower Moon for all the flowers that bloom during that month. A full moon is when the moon appears whole or fully illuminated from Earth.

The moon will have a rather lovely hue tomorrow night.
