Elton Brand thought about trading Ben Simmons

The crowd at the Wells Fargo Center was not too pleased during the Sixers' Game 1 loss as boos rang out throughout a disappointing second half. Jimmy Butler scored 36 points and saved the Sixers, widely considered a favorite to at least reach the East semis, from losing by 25. They are not quite fully healthy just yet, and probably never will be as long as Sixers' center Joel Embiid keeps dealing with his nagging knee injury. Ben Simmons was a postseason dud against Russell, his high school teammate. D'Angelo Russell leads the team with 21 points per game in the postseason.

Spencer Dinwiddie led the Nets with 19 points. Johnson slid the phone into his warmup trousers pocket.

The Nets didn't help their cause by missing all six of their 3-pointers in the third quarter. Brooklyn went on to upset the 76ers on their home court for a 111-102 win in Game One.

UPDATE: James Ennis has been cleared to play and upgraded to probable - will be limited to 12 minutes tonight.

It looks like the Brooklyn Nets now have some extra motivation for Game 3. Tobias Harris (12 points) and Mike Scott (10) also scored in double figures in the third.

And considering the success Dudley had on Simmons individually in the lone game he's played in this series, the assessment makes even more sense from his mouth. He buried a 3 at the horn to send the Sixers into the break down 62-54.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid threw a dirty shot during a Monday night playoff win against the Nets. "That was a man and I think that especially like we've seen it from time, we see it here in Philly in the regular season, fourth periods stand out a lot, you saw it kind of consistently spread throughout the game".

"I honestly don't know what to think about it", Allen said of the postgame merriment. They are 2-14 all-time in Game 1's in franchise history. He missed all five 3s in the half - and the Sixers missed their first 11.

Team-mate Joel Embiid was reluctant to criticise the fanbase but says he can understand why some players would take exception. Moments later, DeMarre Carroll spurred a run to take the wind out of the 76ers. If he is able to turn things around in Game 2, that might take away some of the sting, but will it be enough for Sixers fans to move past him telling them to go over to the other side?

Nets: C Jarrett Allen was whistled for fouls on Philadelphia's first two possessions. Expect both to play.

According to oddsmakers, the 76ers are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Nets. "Shocked me a little bit, to tell you the truth", Jimmy Butler, who was held to just seven points, said. Ben Simmons looked more engaged and Boban Marjanovic came in and made some buckets, positive signs for Philadelphia.
