Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defending Ilhan Omar over 9/11 comments.

A Fox spokesperson noted to AP that Ocasio-Cortez "has received plenty of media attention elsewhere, including prominent features in Time magazine, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and the Hollywood Reporter".

Ocasio-Cortez was criticized Friday for asking via Twitter why Rep.

"So here you go, you guys are breaking news".

Omar has recently come under fire for comments she made about the September 11 terrorist attacks, when she said the attackers were "some people who did something".

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Sunday said she supports impeaching President Donald Trump.

Ocasio-Cortez, who writes all of her own tweets and Instagram posts, said she's trying to limit her consumption of social media to the workweek.

Ocasio-Cortez's remarks came in response to a fundraising email solicitation from the Ohio Federation of College Republicans with the subject line: "AOC is a domestic terrorist". The New York Post denounced Omar on their cover on Thursday, which featured an image of the Twin Towers ablaze after the planes hit with the words "Here's Your Something". The fund, which helps first responders and others harmed in the 9/11 attacks, is up for renewal.

Ocasio-Cortez's disengagement from Facebook also tracks broad trends in social media use among young people.

"As a combat veteran U.S. Navy SEAL having served three tours of duty in Afghanistan, not only has Congressman Crenshaw "done something" to combat terrorism, he was wounded by an improvised device (IED) while serving - causing him to lose his right eye".

"All Rep. Omar had to do was explain herself", Crenshaw said.

"Not a day went by when she wasn't spoken about on Fox", the Associated Press notes.

The liberal watchdog Media Matters for America, which did the research, called it an obsession and said the first term representative has become the network's latest bogeyman, "someone for hosts and guests to demonize, knock down and refer to whenever grievances need to be aired against the Democratic Party".

By promoting ambitious forward-thinking policies including the Green New Deal, a bill to address human-induced climate-change, Ocasio-Cortez has found herself the preferred target of white conservative ire in the United States - including becoming the recipient of multiple death threats, according to reports.
