Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said at a rally here that it is his resolution to ensure India is one of world's top-three economies by 2030.

Officials alleged the response destroyed a major terrorist camp in Pakistan and killed over 300 terrorists, an action which greatly boosted Mr Modi's popularity.

"Primarily, the BJP has been unable to sufficiently distinguish itself from Congress when it comes to making people feel the difference in terms of their livelihoods and economic interests".

In the last four years, especially after the Maharashtra Assembly elections of October 2014 before which the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance split, the Sena and Thackeray have severely criticised the Modi government and made personal remarks against the Prime Minister. "Had Congress leaders acted wisely during the pre-independence era, this Pakistan would not have born", Modi stated. The Prime Minister said Congress is a party that wants to give open licence to anti-nationals because the party and their friends think alike.

Stressing on the need for development works to be carried forward at a rapid pace, PM Modi asked people to vote for a new and brighter future. Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had said his party will strive hard for restoring the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir that could include having a "Sadar-e-Riyasat" (President) and "Wazir-e-Azam" (Prime Minister).

This was despite the massive alienation that Muslims in Kashmir and Muslims in general were facing in Modi's India, said Khan, who took office last August.

Modi's party also said it was committed to building a grand Hindu temple in place of a Muslim mosque demolished by Hindu mobs in the city of Ayodhya in 1992.

Maharashtra will to the polls in four of the seven phases of the Lok Sabha 2019 elections that begin on April 11 and ends on May 19.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP and Thackeray have held a few joint public meetings after the BJP and Shiv Sena renewed their alliance for the Lok Sabha elections and made a decision to contest 25 and 23 Lok Sabha seats respectively. The result is not due until May 23. Later in the evening, Modi will reach Tamil Nadu where he will take the BJP rally forward to Coimbatore.
