It's believed that a thinner OLED screen laminate will allow for extra battery space without adding to the overall thickness of the new handsets. They automatically turn on when you take them out of the case and power off when you put them back.

Apple says they tested over 20 configurations of ears to find the best fit with Powerbeats Pro and its ear hooks.

This iPhone can easily be changed into a reverse wireless charging pod just by simply enabling a radio button.

Powerbeats Pro is compatible with both iOS and Android device. Interestingly though, Apple Malaysia's website has listed the new wireless earphones at a slightly lower price of RM 999 although exact release date remains unknown for the time being.

The control you have over music has also improved with the Powerbeats Pro.

Long and short-range optical sensors drive automatic play/pause and call handling when the earphones are placed in or removed from your ears. The AirPods feature similar technology. The latest generation of AirPods - that come with the Wireless Charging Case - will be available in India soon at Rs 18,900.

Powerbeats Pro features a fully functional, ambidextrous design with identical, physical volume and track controls on each earbud. Plus, they're sweat and water resistant.

The Powerbeats3 are on the left and the Pro to the right.

At least that's what I think, while AirPods 2 are available but we're still waiting on Powerbeats Pro, and once I have them, well, I can and will evolve my thinking based on how they perform and keep performing in the real world. They don't bring any improvements in design or sound quality and the features they do bring such as quicker pairing and "Hey Siri" support aren't good enough reasons to upgrade.

There's big movements going on at Apple's audio wing. The Powerbeats Pro is an alternative to new AirPods but with the same hardware as Apple's truly wireless earbuds and a Lightning jack.

And, who should get Powerbeats Pro? That's on a single charge.
