After hitting a wonderful unbeaten 78 off 29 to join the fastest IPL half-century to set tournament alight for Delhi Capitals against Mumbai Indians in Wankhede stadium on Sunday night won a praise from 2011 world cup hero Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj was purchased by the Mumbai Indians franchise for INR 1 crore at the auctions a year ago.

"This time I needed to increase the run rate for the team, and I took my chances, and it came off today". I was playing for the under 14s, under 16s.


The IPL kicks off later on Saturday with a match between India captain Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore and champions Chennai, who are led by India wicketkeeper and former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

"Not to say we won't be committed to the IPL, but we've got to be smart".

Delhi Capitals were 112 for 3 at the end of 13 overs when Rishabh Pant arrived at the crease to join Shikhar Dhawan. "He had an outstanding season past year", Yuvraj said. "Sometimes when bowlers cramp you for room, you got to make your own room", he said.He had scored runs even last season, but most of those matches ended with Delhi losing the game.

"I have been batting No. 4 in last 6-7 years of my career. Eventually, everyone will know no one wants to miss the bus to the World Cup and cost the team good balance", Kohli had said.
