Borderlands 3 Official Developer Trailer

As announced at the panel, more details will be revealed on April 3.

It's all very silly of course, down to the trailer's surprise sax solo and literally formulaic finale, but what else would one feasibly expect the first taste of a Borderlands game to look like? One of the most major inclusions is the SHiFT program, which will allow players to use Golden Keys to earn rewards in-game.

In addition, we see Tales from the Borderlands' Rhys, who is serving some Handsome Jack realness alongside Borderlands 2's deadly ninja assassin Zer0.

The last Borderlands game was 2014's Pre-Sequel, which feels like a lifetime ago, with development assisted by Gearbox, as 2K Australia took the lead on the game.

Unfortunately for those hoping for more robust changes to Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, next week's update doesn't seem like it will be adding much beyond improved textures and lighting. The announcement of Borderlands GOTY Edition isn't necessarily surprising, as we've seen countless sources confirm its existence, most recently with an ESRB rating for the game.

The teaser trailer also included Amara, a new Vault Hunter, according to Pitchford.

The Borderlands 3 reveal begins at 11am PT on March 28 (11:30pm IST).

Borderlands 3 is official now. Back in 2015, Gearbox said it wanted to make Borderlands 3 but that the studio needed help to make Borderlands 3 happen.

If you own the original Borderlands on Steam, you'll be able to get all the new remaster content for free.
