However, smartphone manufacturers are looking to develop solutions that can make it faster. So, how can Xiaomi sit back and relax?

Set to be announced tomorrow in China, the new charging tech will be marketed as "Super Charge Turbo" and will subsequently become the world's fastest flash charging technology.

Xiaomi co-founder Bin Lin posted a video to Weibo (h/t: 91Mobiles), showing a fast charging comparison between an unnamed Xiaomi device with a 4,000mAh battery and what seems to be the Oppo R17 Pro. "Is this technology awesome?"

Oppo's SuperVOOC is said to charge a 3,730mAh battery in 35 minutes. The Xiaomi smartphone on the test bench has a 4000 mAh battery, whereas the Oppo smartphone has a 3500 mAh battery with Super VOOC fast charging technology.

Hence, we can expect that the Super Charge Turbo technology by Xiaomi is powerful enough and can be a life savior.

The specific details of Super Charge Turbo are yet to be revealed by the company.

XDA-Developers spotted a video of the charger posted to the Weibo account of Lu Weibing, General Manager of Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand.

The company also showcased that the OPPO's SuperVOOC could only charge up to 65 percent by the time the Xiaomi's model smartphone was completely charged. Xiaomi's Super Charge Turbo solution relies on an 100W charge that has a current and voltage rating of 5A and 20V respectively. The questions that remain now is when this technology will start appearing on commercial devices, nor how Xiaomi plans to ensure that it charges safely.
