According to estimates, around 6,000 Palestinians are now languishing in Israeli detention facilities, including women, children and a handful of lawmakers.

The Palestinian man was dead upon arrival at Beit Jala Hospital.

Raed Hamdan, 21 years old, and Ziyad Nuri, 20, were shot dead Tuesday as occupying forces escorted hundreds of settlers to Joseph's tomb in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

On Sunday, a suspected Palestinian assailant fatally stabbed a soldier at an intersection on a busy West Bank highway and opened fire at the scene using the conscript's rifle, killing an Israeli rabbi and wounding a second soldier.

Jordan condemned the court ruling, with its Foreign Ministry saying that Israel would bear "full responsibility for the unsafe consequences" of the decision.

"The incident will be examined", the army said in a statement early Thursday. He said they were trying to help the wounded man and that his cousin was going to drive his wife and children away when he was gunned down. It said that Israeli troops had surrounded a building near the West Bank city of Ramallah and that Abu Leila was killed in an exchange of gunfire.

The uptick in West Bank violence comes as Israel is now in the midst of an election campaign and Egypt is trying to broker a long-term truce between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers.
