Perhaps sensing the Season 1 Battle Pass wasn't going over that well, Respawn released a new blog post, explaining the thinking behind the pass.

Season 1 - Wild Frontier begins at 10:00AM Pacific today, March 19th. "These rewards are all in addition the 1,000 Apex Coins you can earn through the Battle Pass, which you can put towards unlocking the next Battle Pass". "While we think there's really cool design space in quests and challenges for future Battle Passes, we wanted the initial version to allow our players to just play and learn the game".

There will be 100 Battle Pass rewards to unlock in Season 1, 25 of which you can unlock instantly with the Battle Pass Bundle. If you're the type of person who plays Apex Legends frequently, you probably don't need to pay for those first 25 tiers, but it's a nice option for those who don't play enough to burn through the whole Battle Pass before the season ends.

Apex Legends' Season 1 Battle Pass, Wild Frontier, launches later today, but what do you get with it? They include one Wild Frontier Legend skin, five Apex packs and 18 Wild Frontier stat trackers. A level 20 player who buys the Battle Pass Bundle will unlock all rewards up to level 45.

To coincide with its official announcement, Respawn has shared exactly what players will receive for their 1000 Apex Coins.

Battle Pass holders will get a range of rewards including Rare weapon skins, Apex Coins, new dialogue lines, badges and banners as they progress through the levels. Apex Legends' hero shooter route works so well that it makes one wonder how this was never done before, but Respawn did players one better than just throwing another twist into the battle royale formula: it made an outstanding game. His ultimate ability lets him place a jump pad on the ground he and his teammates can use to launch into the air to escape or reach high places. His Adrenaline Junkie ability lets him trade health for speed, while an endless supply of Stim health regeneration keeps him action-ready.

Yes! Everyone can earn the free rewards during Season 1.

Instead, Respawn has added a progression system that's tied to playing as a variety of different characters.
