"It is a great challenge, I know that, but I am really looking forward to it, to returning to coach. Fans are proud that you are here again with us".

"I'm just happy to come back".

According to Marca, via The Mirror, Real Madrid are on the verge of sacking manager Santiago Solari and replacing him with Zidane.

Undoubtedly the summer promises to be fascinating in terms of players leaving Real and the club bringing signings in.

The results led to allegations of in-fighting at the club, with Ramos said to have argued with president Florentino Perez in the dressing room after the Ajax match, while it was also suggested he clashed with Marcelo in training.

Ramos, Marcelo, Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema and Luca Zidane should all be the main beneficiaries of the three-time Champions League-winning coach. Bale's future now appears in serious doubt unless their relationship can be quickly repaired. The Wales worldwide fell out of favour with Zidane during the Frenchman's final season in charge, and his return may force Bale to consider his future should he get the impression that he'll once again be on the peripheries of the starting XI.

It was reported after Madrid's 4-1 weekend win against Real Valladolid that Solari, 42, was to be relieved of his duties on Monday, less than four months after he was given the job on a permanent basis.

The Belgian has long flirted with a move to the Spanish club, and the prospect of playing under Zidane has many believing the 28-year-old will finally make his move away from Stamford Bridge - however likely it seemed anyway.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Real firmed up their interest in Hazard shortly before Zidane's reappointment, on a contract until 2022, had been finalised. Zidane was the world's most expensive player when he arrived at the Bernabéu in 2001, but more that proved his worth during his five-year stay.

Their issues stem from Mourinho's outspoken criticism of the players in the wake of a 1-0 loss to Sevilla in September 2012, something Ramos took issue with and found himself dropped for the Champions League visit of Manchester City three days later.
