The Duchess will be very sad to see her go, but is excited for her as Amy has exciting plans ahead including spending some time overseas.

Royal watchers are in shock as Pickerill was handpicked to work for Meghan and was chosen to succeed Samantha Cohen, who is stepping down as the Duchess' private secretary after 17 years with the royal family.

She shared a letter sent by 19th-century mathematician and computer pioneer Charles Babbage to Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert.

The Daily Mail has reported that Amy Pickerill, who was appointed as Meghan's assistant private secretary past year, has handed in her notice.

Meghan's personal assistant Melissa Touabti resigned just six months into the job.

Earlier this week, the British royal family announced a set of social media guidelines to create a "safe environment" against commentary considered to be discriminatory, threatening, abusive, hateful, and violent, to name a few. She put up with quite a lot.

It's an understandable position to take, given the near-endless amount of chatter around Meghan Markle and the volume of abuse that she unfortunately cops on a regular basis.

Kensington Palace later thanked young Canadians for sharing their traditions, particularly the "spring tradition of making maple taffy", with Markle and Prince Harry.

Like any other public personality, Meghan Markle gets hate on social media as well!

Meghan's ring, designed by Harry, was made using two diamonds from Diana, Princess of Wales's personal collection and a central diamond sourced from Botswana. However, the then-Meghan Markle shuttered her lifestyle blog "The Tig" and her accompanying Instagram account prior to her wedding.

At the time, multiple reports suggested Meghan's "difficult" behaviour had caused a strain within the royal household.

For her youngest, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out for her final royal engagement on 22 March, an exact month before she gave birth to Prince Louis on 23 April.
