Manchester City are thriving on title pressure - Mahrez

Liverpool and Bayern played out a tense 0-0 draw at Anfield last month to hand the Germans the advantage heading into the home leg, yet Sky Sports pundit Neville has suggested defeat for Jurgen Klopp's side in the German capital could be a blessing in disguise.

"We had - in a game that was really hard to control because of the two things I said - I think three or four really big chances".

"You think it's PlayStation - bring an extra attacker and football changes". Football is not like that.

Former Manchester United full-back Neville said "what a player" in reference to van Dijk while Carragher - who played as a centre-back for Liverpool for many years - believes the Dutchman is a "shoo-in" for the Player of the Year Award following another impressive display on Sunday. We play next week against Burnley and if we play only offensive, they kill us on the counter-attack, 100 percent.

Captain Jordan Henderson added: "We are obviously disappointed as we want to win every game but we need to be more clinical in the final third and take one of those chances and come away with a 1-0 win".

There were other chances for Liverpool, the best of which fell to Fabinho 21 minutes from time, but he took too long to control and allowed Lucas Digne to make a tackle.

"I do think it's 50-50 still, irrespective of what happened [against Everton]".

The Toffees have played cautiously in the derby games of late, but considering their recent run, they might not sit back and defend against Liverpool.

"They are doing incredibly well and we are the same".

Liverpool have only 4 wins from their last 11 games.

"I'm a big believer that confidence is a huge factor in any sport and the best way for a footballer to feel confident is by winning big games".

While Manchester City go head to head against Tottenham at the Etihad before a risky trip to Old Trafford, Liverpool will host both Tottenham and Chelsea at Anfield.

"They had a big chance with Salah in the first half after one moment when we lost the ball, not something they created because they didn't create big moments to score". We are a little bit below points-wise what we did past year.
