He enjoyed a fine game in Wednesday's 2-0 Premier League win over Tottenham, however, to suggest his recent struggles might be behind him, and Sarri is adamant that he is not fazed by playing under intense scrutiny.

Willy Caballero started in place of Kepa against Tottenham, although Sarri insisted after the match that the former Athletic Bilbao star remained his first choice.

"The Kepa situation now is closed".

And he feels Kepa's public show of defiance might have had an overall positive impact on the dressing room.

"But it's a big opportunity, also". So there is the opportunity to be better, and you have to take it.

"Not only the Premier League, because you have to play in the FA Cup, the League Cup, and every match is really very hard - if you think that, in the League Cup, we played against Liverpool, twice against Tottenham, the final against seems like a Champions League".

"When there is a very hard experience you can come out always different than before: better or worse".

'I think that he can do better.

Asked how it has benefited him and his players, Sarri replied: "For the players, I think it was an experience useful for staying more united. We are more compact".

"He is training with his team-mates of course", Sarri said.

"We ran for 15 kilometres on Sunday on average, and the average of the last match was 12km".

"And also with the results. As a young person in this position, I'm very grateful".

Scott Parker says the inquest into Fulham's disastrous Premier League campaign must wait until May. "I'd like very much to do the same with this club".

Sarri believes Chelsea are finding some consistency in their performances now, which he hopes will continue. "The results are only a outcome - sometimes not, but in 95 percent of cases [they are]".

I see my number go up and always thought "I go".

Parker said there were no hard feelings from the experienced Italian, who lasted just 106 days in the job after replacing Slavisa Jokanovic in November.

"So we were lucky because, in that period, we had a very good moment for Emerson".
