Cohen was also questioned about an October 2018 report in the New York Times that Trump had participated in a series of tax schemes related to his father's real estate empire.

Each of the Committee's 42 members are allowed five minutes to ask questions, including NY democratic representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

'People want to work for what they get, so I think this idea of a guaranteed minimum is not something most people want. They want the ability to live in a country where there's the potential for upward mobility'.

In the letter, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals asked Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, to help limit the nation's dependence on an animal food supply to help preserve the environment and make Americans healthier. And as to where would the committee find more information on this Cohen said, "The Trump Org".

The plan has been embraced by several Democratic White House hopefuls but criticised even by some in the party as too costly and impractical.

"No I did not", Trump said in the tweet. "And it does lead, I think, young people to have a legitimate question, you know, should ― is it OK to still have children?"

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said in an interview published Wednesday the Green New Deal "goes beyond what our charge is" on climate change and has an agenda that is "not what we hope to achieve".

On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez responded to Trump's dismissal of a guaranteed living wage.

"As a person who actually worked for tips & hourly wages in my life, instead of having to learn about it 2nd-hand, I can tell you that most people want to be paid enough to live", she said.

After a mid-day break in Cohen's testimony, it was time for Ocasio-Cortez to personally interrogate Trump's former lawyer, who will start serving his 3 year sentence in federal prison in May.

And that's great Ivanka, but surely it's in the interest of women's (and everyone's) rights to "build" marginalized groups up by providing a minimum wage that allows for independence and access to basic necessities like healthcare? "Workers are often paid far less than the value they create".

Raising the minimum wage has been hotly debated around the country for years.
