Idrissa Gana Gueye is attempting to secure a move away from Everton to Paris St. Germain, but the Toffees are expected to reject any advances for the midfielder.

The Ligue 1 champions reportedly had a €25m bid rejected for the Senegalese midfielder earlier this week but Yahoo France reported on Wednesday that a second bid of around €29m had been accepted by the Toffees.

Should Gueye leave Everton?

"When a club like PSG has a big interest in one of our players it means we're doing a good job".

It is no secret the club are looking for reinforcements, with Zenit's Leandro Paredes also mooted as a target, but Gueye - for whom PSG are said to have offered £22million - will be staying put if Everton can help it.

He said in his news conference, as quoted by The Evening Telegraph: "I know Idrissa very well, he is a good professional and a fantastic boy". The January market is really tough, because the market is open when you're playing and training.

As for how close Everton had come to accepting the bis, Silva added: "From the feedback, I had with the board, they never told me the deal will be done or not, they didn't tell me it was close, and they never told me we need to prepare to replace Gana".

Gueye has been a key player for Everton this season, making 20 appearances in the Premier League.

Despite sitting 14 points off the top four, Gueye has played an important role in preventing goals this season when he's been deployed as a defensive midfielder. "We have to be stronger as a team and stronger than them in all the moments of the match".
