Tickner will be part of the NZ squad for the final T20I as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who is there for the first two matches. Mohammed Shami has been a revelation as he has grabbed the second bowler spot with both hands and is really coming good for India before the World Cup.

New Zealand picked two uncapped players, all-rounder Daryl Mitchell and pacer Blair Tickner for the three-match T20 global series against India starting from February 6 here. As they have humbled the hosts in the first three games of the five-match series, the remaining two matches are a dead rubber. A decision on Dhoni's availability will be taken before the toss on Thursday. Plays-and-misses followed outside off, and so did inside-edges as Boult superbly manoeuvred the bowling angles, sometimes twice in an over, until Gill caved in. In case both Gill and Dhoni are included, Dinesh Karthik could well be rested.

For New Zealand, everything seems to have gone haywire since the start of the series and skipper Kane Williamson has agreed that they have been completely outplayed by India.

Only four Indian batsnmen - Shikhar Dhawan (13), Hardik Pandya (16), Kuldeep Yadav (15) and Yuzvendra Chahal (18 not out) - posted double digit scores.

The Kiwis lost the wickets of Martin Guptill and Williamson early in the chase but Nicholls and in-form Taylor ensured there were no further hiccups. Tom Latham and Ross Taylor have performed occasionally but none has been impactful consistently enough to change the complexion of the game. He was considered a USP but has been his biggest weakness in the series.

"It's great to welcome back the all-round skills of Jimmy and Todd and we're looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the series", selector Gavin Larsen said, as New Zealand works towards finalising its World Cup squad. It was also India's second lowest total in ODIs against New Zealand, having somehow managed to surpass the 88 scored at Dambulla.

India's fielding coach R Sridhar was in the pre-match presentation to voice his opinion about players who are warming the bench in the Indian cricket team. One can also live stream the 1st ODI on Hotstar app and website.
