The record was just cracked and it's more egg-citing than you could guess: An egg.

Kylie Jenner's record of having the most liked Instagram post of all time has been lost to a very unlikely contender.

It becomes the first non-human in Instagram's top 20 most-liked posts, with celebrities such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Beyonce and Selena Gomez owning the lion's share of top photos. As for the egg, the people who run the account were seriously shook over the response they got. "Take that little egg", Jenner said.

Despite just being an egg, the account behind the now-famous food isn't entirely innocent.

The story behind the egg image is about as mysterious as it gets.

2019 is the year of Big Chungus, Mafia City and now a super popular egg. The short clip has had over 13 million views already, so Kylie needn't worry too much about losing her Insta-crown, she's still going viral. According to the New York Times, the total amount of likes the post received is greater than the whole population of Australia. "What a time to be alive", and thanked everyone for their support. Half an Onion, a twitter page managed to garner around 6 million followers in an attempt to overtake the popularity of Donald Trump's Twitter account. "We got this (sic)".

The world_record_egg account appears to have been created exclusively to break the record.

"I saw this as a challenge to beat it", Henrietta explained.

Jenner, however, was not about to be left with egg on her face and responded shortly after she was dethroned.

We cannot answer these questions for you, we can only wait and see what the future holds for Egg Gang. The egg is just an example of one that had success.
