R Kelly has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct and abusive treatment of women and underage girls, including those that there uncovered in the recent documentary Surviving R Kelly.

The interview comes about a week after the premiere of the Lifetime documentary series, "Surviving R. Kelly", which features multiple sexual abuse allegations against Kelly.

In April 2018, a woman told authorities that R. Kelly intentionally gave her a sexually transmitted disease, according to Dallas News.

Reuters was unable independently to verify the accusations. Kelly, whose given name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was acquitted in 2008 on charges of videotaping himself having sex with a girl who prosecutors allege was as young as 13.

"We know what happened, and we know those things didn't happen", the attorney, Steven Greenberg, said in a pre-taped interview that aired on Friday's episode of Good Morning America. Lifetime did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However it was not necessary to clarify whether there was any truth to their claims as they didn't go to the police or provide and physical evidence, he said.

The fallout has seen the launch of a fresh police investigation, while several high profile musicians who previously collaborated with R. Kelly have spoken out against him, including Chance the Rapper, Phoenix and Lady Gaga, who apologised and pledged to remove her duet with Kelly from streaming services.
