Sarri: Chelsea need two signings in January

Sarri says does not believe the best global teams would be capable of competing with the top club sides, and even suggested Chelsea would beat England. "They didn't respect our club".

Chelsea have reportedly turned down a £35 million ($45 million) bid from Bayern for the 18-year-old, who has less than 18 months to run on his current contract and has so far refused to sign a new five-year deal, and Sarri is unhappy with Bayern's public approach.

Sarri, who celebrated his 60th birthday on Thursday, is not a fan of the winter transfer window.

Who do YOU think we need, Blues? The market window in January would be better for one week, 10 days.

Sarri said he had recommended to Chelsea that two players be signed, but declined to say their positions. "I spoke with the club and the club knows very well my opinion", he said.

Any team in the Premier League, outside the top six at least, would have Hudson-Odoi tomorrow and he would play every week.

"But I don't know anything about the market day by day or minute by minute".

Higuain knows Sarri well as he played under him during their time at Napoli where the striker arguably played his best football having scored 91 goals in just 146 games during a three-year spell at Stadio San Paolo.

Sarri told the Spain global he will not stand in his way if he wants to leave the club this month but insists he'll need a replacement. Sevilla and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the Spain striker.

"Of course, if Morata will go to another club we need a replacement, it's normal", Sarri said.

"At the moment, Morata is here".

Head coach Sarri wants the Blues to bring in striker Higuain, who played under him at Napoli and is now on a season-long loan at AC Milan from Juventus. "I am very, very happy with the player because the player is improving".

"He is really very important".

"Now he needs to improve in some movements without the ball but he is working very well at the moment so I am very happy with the player and would like to have him in the future".

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (back) is out and Morata (hamstring) is doubtful when the Blues face Newcastle, with Sarri hinting Hudson-Odoi and Andreas Christensen would drop to the substitutes' bench.
