But nonetheless, a new report from the Wall Street Journal suggests Apple has three new iPhones coming out this year, one with three rear cameras, another lower-cost one like the iPhone XR and. something else. The high-end 2019 iPhone will reportedly feature three rear-facing cameras, we're told, while the other phones will have two rear shooters. For reference, iPhone sales is one of the biggest revenue generating sources for the tech giant.

So says analyst Anne Lee of Japanese investment bank Nomura, who predicts that the design of the 2019 iPhones isn't going to change much compared to the current iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, 9to5Mac reports.

Unfortunately, there's still no word on whether Apple will be lowering their iPhone prices this year-which would probably help boost sales more than camera improvements would. This rumor isn't new, but it's coupled with the idea that the iPhone XR hasn't sold as well as Apple thought it would.

Retailers like Suning and JD.com are slashing prices by up to $118 on the iPhone XR, according to Reuters and Yahoo Finance.

"We believe the 2019 iPhone and Galaxy Series features new WiFi 6 (ax), which should be a moderate tailwind for AVGO".

Qian Chao, a district manager for Shanghai-based iPhone distributor DoubleRise Beijing Technology, said it was the company's decision to make the price cuts and that it had not received any official notice from Apple.

However, Apple's most recent range of iPhones - the Xr, Xs and Xs Max - have failed to ignite the smartphone market.

Today's report follows an earlier investor note by Ming-Chi Kuo, in which he cut down shipment estimates for the iPhone.

According to Mr. Cook, Apple's 2018 iPhone lineup sales were accounted for in the company's previous quarter, as opposed to the iPhone X, whose unit shipments were reflected in 1Q18.
