Cody Parkey's game-winning field goal attempt hits upright, crossbar and fails

But a new video proves that the missed kick may not have been all Parkey's fault.

Parkey even said after the game he thought he hit the ball well. It shows Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester getting his hand on the ball to tip it.

The unfortunate miss was Parkey's seventh missed field goal this season, and it was the fifth kick that had hit an upright after he miraculously managed to do that four times in a single game earlier this year against the Detroit Lions. "I feel bad. Continue to put things into perspective, continue to just put my best foot forward and just sleep at night knowing that I did everything in my power this week to make that kick and for whatever reason it hit the crossbar and the upright". "I feel awful. I let the team down". Finances could dictate that Chicago will keep him, but it should cut the string now and find someone who can help this team in a 2019 Super Bowl run.

After Hester gave the details, people still weren't convinced that the kick had been tipped. But you know, I love these guys that I get to play with. It's a really tough job, and I just wanted to make sure he understood that we all had his back.

If Pace releases his kicker this offseason, it will cost the Bears just under $5.2 million, according to Spotrac. "So we could have done better in a lot of areas", Long said.

The Philadelphia Eagles were desperately seeking a lift with little time left to save their season.
