Vikings lose to the Bears in the season finale, miss playoffs

- The Chicago Bears capped off an incredible season Sunday with a 24-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) can win the AFC West and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory against the Oakland Raiders (4-11).

The NFL arranged the schedule to minimize the anticlimactic outcomes, moving the Bears-Vikings game to the late-afternoon slot so it would be played simultaneously with Eagles-Redskins, Cardinals-Seahawks and 49ers-Rams. There's no magic formula.

Nagy declared, on more than one occasion throughout the week, the Bears were not content to simply go through the motions just because they had already locked up - at a minimum - the No. 3 seed.

All the Minnesota Vikings have to do to make the playoffs is beat the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

All that needs to happen for the Vikings to make the postseason is them beating or tying the Bears. "I told them, 'You set out to get yourself into the tournament.' They've done that and we just got another opportunity next week".

Chicago, the NFC North division champion, can not finish any worse than third but must defeat the Vikings and hope for San Francisco to defeat the Rams in Los Angeles to jump into the No. 2 seed and earn a first-round bye. The Vikings entered Sunday's blowout loss with the league's No. 1 third-down defense. "This could be our last game or we can go forward". Philadelphia has won two straight games since Nick Foles has taken over for the injured Carson Wentz at quarterback.

We don't know when the games will be in 2019, but we do know who and where they will play their opponents. "Like I've said a bunch of times, this training staff has been really great in keeping me as prepared as possible to play physically, and credit to them". "For us, the playoffs have already started", head coach Mike Zimmer said.

Dickerson covers the Chicago Bears for ESPN's NFL Nation.

"Our team feeds off the crowd and what they bring", Cousins said. "I feel like we'll get this thing situated, and my goal is to be out there and play".
