Considering that we've seen Far Cry 4 in November 2014, Far Cry Primal in February 2016, and Far Cry 5 in March 2018.

Far Cry New Dawn launches on February 15 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Set seventeen years after a global nuclear catastrophe, Far Cry New Dawn brings players into a wildly attractive and radically transformed Hope County, Montana.

In this "new world order", a vicious gang out of outlaws, dubbed the Highwaymen, led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou, travel from place to place bleeding people dry of resources and killing whoever needs killing. However, a new six minute long trailer from Ubisoft with alpha gameplay provided some more context on what's going on and what you'll be doing during the post-apocalypse. Aside from the silent custom character you could create in Far Cry 5, the series has not featured a playable woman protagonist yet. That means there's a new player character coming to Hope County for the first time. Almost two decades later, nature has enthusiastically reclaimed what humankind lost - New Dawn presents the most lush and inviting apocalypse imaginable.

To stand a chance against these new threats, players can utilize the resources in Prosperity - the name of Far Cry: New Dawn's Homebase. Yet, while weapons, vehicles, and your outpost are all upgradeable, this time around any outpost you liberate can actually be re-captured by The Highwaymen. There's also a giant boar you can befriend named Horatio, who looks like he'll be really handy in a fight. We met Horatio the Boar and the adorable Timber the Akita, who looks especially cute sat beside you in a sidecar as you ride between missions. The Cameo System, the game's multiplayer-inspired feature, was also revealed.

We've yet to give it a go, but it's interesting to see Ubisoft stick to its tradition of releasing experimental titles under the Far Cry banner.
