It is highly improbable that Vega is unaware of the basic information presented above, especially given that she interspersed her broadcast package with clips of President Trump alluding to specific examples of Clinton's serious misconduct. "No emails were ever deleted, and the emails have been retained in the official account in conformity with records preservation laws and rules".

During the 2016 election campaign Donald Trump branded Hillary Clinton, his Democratic rival, "crooked" over her use of a personal email server while secretary of state and accused her of endangering national security.

She did not use, or even activate, a state.gov email account, which would have been hosted on servers owned and managed by the USA government. The review cited by the Washington Post found that she used a private account for much of the year, sending emails to cabinet officials, White House aides and assistants.

Lowell also said she turned over all her government-related emails months ago so they could be stored permanently with other White House records.

Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said the panel would investigate White House communications when his party take over the US House of Representatives in January.

The group's executive director, Austin Evers, said in a statement: "The President's family is not above the law".

Senior Democrats have called for Ivanka Trump, the U.S. president's eldest daughter, to be investigated for using a personal account to send hundreds of emails about government business.

He called on Congress to investigate.

Twitter has been awash with posts comparing Trump and Clinton, calls for Ivanka to resign and chants of "Lock her up!", as anti-Trump resistance was gloating over her supposed downfall. Ivanka Trump apparently did not know that using her private email for government business is problematic, despite her father focusing his campaign on slamming Clinton for doing so. Following the discovery of her use of private email in fall previous year, the White House launched an internal review of the emails, which was carried out by Ivanka's attorney, Abbe Lowell.

However, in almost 100 of the emails, she reportedly corresponded about official government business, though she and her representatives maintain that many of those emails were in response to people contacting Ivanka first. "The blending and mixing of emails, her private account and public account, and it raises the issue of whether there's anything improper".

The Post reports that some aides were left startled by the sheer volume of her personal emails, with matters made worse by her response when questioned about the practice.

"Hillary Clinton deleted 33,000 emails, she had a server in the basement, that's the real story".

This discovery is sure to rile Donald Trump.

"To say that Ivanka Trump doesn't know or is ignorant of policy - the flawless example is Hillary Clinton".
