New Orleans Saints fear Dez Bryant tore Achilles tendon in practice

The New Orleans Saints wasted no time getting former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant in and practicing with the team. "You got those types of guys". Last season, Bryant caught 69 passes, including six touchdowns, for a grand total of 838 yards and was tied for third in the league in dropped passes.

"He kept having the swelling week in and week out and he really was pushing through it", Payton said.

Thomas, who is New Orleans' leading receiver, said he has been following Bryant's career.

While some folks might be anxious to see whether Bryant can return to Pro Bowl form in the Big Easy, Sharpe is tempering his expectations, believing just one meaningful play would make the signing a good move by the Saints. Earlier in the week, the Saints chose to bring in a handful of veteran wide receivers that were available in an attempt to add some depth to their roster. Bryant came into the workout "a little heavy".

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton had some trouble keeping his team focused before their game at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sunday - though it wasn't due to a fault of his own.

"I am going to be excited".

Bryant said he had turned down other opportunities to work out this season, without offering any specifics. You know I still love those guys.

Bryant said he is "not at all" bitter about his departure from the Cowboys, adding, "That chapter's closed".
