Kyle Walker and Jesse Lingard having been going at it on social media ahead of Sunday's anticipated Manchester derby.

City have been in the headlines this week over a story published by German newspaper Die Spiegel, which claimed the Abu Dhabi-backed club breached Financial Fair Play rules.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "If we keep conceding [opening] goals the day will arrive where we can not come back". "I focus on football. You need to win with a bit of class", Scholes said on BT Sport.

"But I have to mention the strong City side these days, because City are living a great moment".

The Portuguese previously indicated United - seventh in the table going into the weekend - can not consider themselves in the title race until they climb into the top four.

"It's a fantastic victory for us, a victory that is not just about the points we lost at home but the feeling of how well we played", said Mourinho. A key turning point was the 6-1 at their place - I think things have changed since then.

"We have to just think about the match, is hard enough as an isolated event, if you want to put that match into the context of where we are and where we can be".

Juventus forward Dybala was one of a number of players who confronted Mourinho.

United fans might be optimistic due to their win at the Etihad towards the end of last season, but I don't see that happening again.

"All derbies are special, I think in Spain there is more noise than here but special, special for everybody", he said. "After their goal I think we had five minutes to wake up again but the team was there was the first minute to the last".

"It's true that recent results gave us good spirit, energy, but the real Manchester United. we will see at the end of the season if we can say that we had a good season".

"The respect is always there, no matter who you are playing, but maybe now, the way in which City are viewed by United has changed and maybe we have got the upper hand".
