In fact, it seems like a lot of whether you come away from the movie in mildly amused confusion or outright hate has to do with whether you're into watching Tom Hardy turn in a truly freakish performance.

Tom Hardy recently tried out the iconic catchphrase of one of Bollywood's most popular villains, Mogambo, and the Hollywood star nailed it. At the same time, many of these reactions seem to come away at least entertained, even if it's not because this comic book movie is of the highest quality. With Hardy being known for more serious acting roles, his casting as Eddie Brock garnered a lot of attention, though the mixed reactions to the film won't be heartening news for Sony. He noted that the movie does feature "a few fun Venom-centric moments", but it has "nearly nothing to offer" beyond that. That probably should've been a question, but I'm learning to accept that.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's see how Venom fares when it hits theaters on October 5th.

Full reviews will follow this week, with the movie taking its bow across the United Kingdom tomorrow.

The optics for the Venom film ain't too good right now. "What I've said in the past is that we wanted to push the violence to the hilt. It is a film that has gone through the pre-MCU through a crack in time and space." .

Significant chunks of #Venom don't work *at all* but there is some serious charm to the Eddie/Venom relationship.

Actor Tom Hardy is scheduled to make an appearance at a special military screening of the movie "Venom" Thursday at the Cameo Art House Theatre in downtown Fayetteville, according to the USO of North Carolina. I thought it would be fun to play with him, and it really was'. "He's really famous because he's got the best catchphrase". Is there an R-rated cut sitting there?

"Venom is a byproduct of me wanting to draw a blue and red Spider-Man costume", McFarlane said. Tom Hardy is pretty phenomenal.

Also starring Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Scott Haze and Woody Harrelson, it's due for release on October 3.
