Johnson gained 101 yards on 16 carries as the Lions possessed the ball for more than 39 minutes.

Prior to the NFL's Week 3 Sunday night matchup between the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Pats had considered trading All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski to a few different teams during the offseason.

"He's just a great player for us".

Brady pulled the Patriots within three points on a 10-yard TD pass to James White early in the third.

Gronkowski, whose body has taken a beating over the years, admitted in 2017 to considering retirement after another extended season that culminated in their Super Bowl LI win - so it only made sense that he'd have done the same a year later.

"Yeah, it happened. Brady's my quarterback, that's all". The reigning MVP managed to complete only 14-of-26 passes for 133 yards, a touchdown and an interception, while his new wideout, Josh Gordon, who came over this week from the Browns, was inactive with a hamstring issue. "I'm not going anywhere without Brady". Trey Flowers, the team's top defensive lineman, was knocked out of last week's game with a concussion and safety Patrick Chung also suffered a concussion - both have yet to practice this week and their availability looks increasingly in question.

Lions: Play at Dallas (1-2). RB Rex Burkhead left the game in the second half with a neck injury. The Patriots displayed none of the urgency they maintained they needed all week after losing in Jacksonville.
