Gabonese and Arsenal forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice on Thursday night as the English club side won their opening Europa League game against Ukrainian side, Vorskla Poltava.

Summer signing Bernd Leno was widely expected to become Arsenal's number one following his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen, but Emery has so far preferred Petr Cech in goal despite the 36-year-old enduring an error-strewn 2017-18 campaign.

Everton have scored just ten goals at the home of Arsenal since the stadium opened back in 2006 which is a shocking record by any standard and a worrying one ahead of this match on Sunday.

"He has done OK since joining Arsenal in January but you want more than OK when you spend almost £60 million".

Head coach Unai Emery sanctioned a £19million deal for the Germany global but the 26-year-old has been forced to play second fiddle to Petr Cech who has started all five of Arsenal's Premier League games so far this season.

Asked if he had been frustrated at being made to wait to make his debut, Leno replied: "Of course, because I came to the club to play every game". "I think I did a good job with the ball, with the passing". Maybe I need a little bit of time. I keep calm. My chance will come. I think it is the best league.

However, Leno said that his rivalry with Cech remains friendly, and that he is benefiting from working with the veteran.

"The coach always makes the starting XI based on the performance", he said.

"I think there are a lot of positives today from the game".

Arsenal sit in seventh in the Premier League after three wins and two defeats, and face Everton at the weekend. I will work hard every day to play more games.
