Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool proved they can "climb any mountain" as victory over Paris St-Germain showed his team have stepped up a level after last season's Champions League heartbreak.

"I'm not sure it's possible to avoid his quality 100 percent".

Liverpool and PSG have only played two games against each other in their history.

"They see the games we played".

Brazilian star Neymar sat during PSG's Ligue 1 match against Saint-Etienne while French World Cup victor Kylian Mbappe also Saturday.

The Reds are still aiming to win their first trophy since Klopp's appointment at Anfield back in October 2015. They beat Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of the Round of 16 in 2016/17, however, the Catalan club completed one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history when they won the second leg 6-1.

The Champions League match between Liverpool and PSG will be broadcast live on TNT.

"He is an outstanding coach".

Liverpool stormed to the final last season after their front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were simply unstoppable and they'll be a handful for the PSG defence.

"But, on the other side, it's quite hard to make a preparation because they have never played against us".

Anfield's Brazilian hero, 26, was taken off during the 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday with an eye injury.

Neville this week said the Reds' best chance of ending a 29-year wait to be English champions would be enhanced if they "kicked into touch" their European ambitions.

But Liverpool could have been much further ahead had Salah and Mane combined better in attack.

"Today was a tough task for us, coming back from worldwide breaks when all the lads have travelled the world, so to come back and put in a performance like that is very pleasing".

Liverpool's manager had assumed there would be no chance of including Firmino in his plans but he reported for training at Melwood on Tuesday morning and told Klopp: "I'm fine". They were so in the game, and while we had to fight a lot we also played football.

"It was a rude awakening but we are our own biggest critics".

'We know Harry Kane very well and have worked with him for more than four years and we know it's not a situation that worries us.
