The long-awaited start of the online service for Nintendo's hybrid console is set in stone.

Nintendo has announced that it will roll out a new Switch update on September 18, created to lock user profiles to their linked Nintendo Accounts.

There wasn't too much of the game revealed just yet, but we did see some of the ghost-capturing gameplay that the game will have, which is a bit similar to what we saw in previous Mansion games. The patch will arrive alongside the launch of Nintendo Switch Online. One is a pair of Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers that will work with the Nintendo Switch's enhanced NES games.

"Friends can even watch each other play single-player games online, and "pass the controller" at any time. It will also be possible to play these games offline". You can save a few bucks by opting for a three-month membership for $7.99 or a 12-month subscription for $19.99. There's also a family membership option which costs $34.99 per year and allows up to 8 accounts to be connected. For $59.99, you get a pair with rechargable batteries that can attach to your Nintendo Switch to charge when not in use.

Nintendo Switch Online will remain free to non-scubscribers up until the paid service launches and a deeper dive into the service will happen during the upcoming Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2018.
