Miller, whose real name was Malcolm James McCormick, died of an apparent overdose inside his California home, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing sources. He was found around noon at his Fernando Valley home and pronounced dead at the scene, reports said.

Ariana Grande has not responded to news of Miller's death yet, but if it is to judge by Twitter comments about the singer, she has a good reason for disabling comments on her Instagram page. One song, "Hurt Feelings", was released as a promotional video to help promote Miller's latest album "Swimming", which was released early last month. It also pushed him into the upper reaches of the rap game due to the record's star-studded guests, such as Earl Sweatshirt, SchoolBoy Q, Tyler, The Creator, Flying Lotus, Pharrell Williams and more.

Miller had been set to go on tour starting next month.

Miller had been in a long-term relationship with Ariana Grande, 25, which ended this past May. But beyond helping me to launch my career, he was also one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. In 2012, his first album, "Blue Slide Park", became the first independent debut album to hit the top of the Billboard chart in more than 16 years. "I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will, of course)".

"I had a homie that had strokes and shit, and we didn't know if it was because of lean", he told Noisy. "I was so f. up all the time it was bad".

He continued releasing successful albums and mixtapes and in 2014, he signed with Warner Bros.

In a separate tweet, he told his 8.4 million followers, "I just wanna go on tour". "Im completely broken. God bless him", said Chance the Rapper on Twitter.

This is all obviously still very fresh, but we'll bring you more news as it develops.
