Holdout over: Thomas rejoins Seahawks

NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys offered a second round NFL Draft pick to Seattle for star defensive back Earl Thomas.

Even though Seattle willingly moved on from some of these big names, Thomas was a player they probably thought would come around at some point over the course of the offseason.

Thomas has since reported to the Seahawks.

Thomas wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of himself in the Seahawks' weight room, that: "I worked my whole life for this...."

"The Cowboys remain a trade option for Earl Thomas", Pelissero tweeted Friday.

Thomas is a three-time first-team All-Pro and was the anchor for the Seattle defence that appeared in consecutive Super Bowls, winning the first.

"Within the past week, Dallas upped its offer to the Seahawks for Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas to a second-round pick, per sources", Schefter tweeted Wednesday morning. And luckily for Thomas, the Seahawks have agreed to waive the majority of his fines. Thomas' reaction to the lack of a resolution was clear in his post: "The disrespect has been noted and will not be forgotten". That likelihood, apparently, is enough to keep the Cowboys brass from ponying up whatever pot-sweeteners Seattle now wants. He also would have to report by midseason to avoid his contract tolling, meaning if he did not play this season he would still be under contract to Seattle in 2019.

Projected starter Xavier Woods at free safety will miss the season opener and maybe longer with a pulled hamstring.
