Courtois will depart the west London club after amassing 154 appearances in all competitions for the Blues after starting the last four years at the club as Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper.

Los Blancos have already allowed Mateo Kovacic to join Chelsea on a season-long loan, and compatriot Modric is also itching to leave having already agreed terms with Inter.

His form caught Real Madrid's attention but mounting transfer speculation culminated in him signing a seven-and-a-half-year contract extension at San Mames in January.

Arrizabalaga becomes the most expensive goalkeeper in soccer history, ahead of Liverpool's Alisson, who moved from AS Roma for €75 million earlier in the transfer window.

In a summer dominated by big moves for goalkeepers, Chelsea rushed through a deal for Kepa, 23, after Thibaut Courtois joined Real Madrid for a reported 35 million euros.

Meanwhile, Giroud is pleased that Hazard, who wore the captain's armband on his return from World Cup duty, is set to stay at the club, despite having played a role in eliminating his Belgium side from Russian Federation 2018. I want to thank the fans for their great support.

"I'm incredibly happy to be here", the Spaniard added.

He also sustained a gut-wrenching defeat to Real in the 2014 Champions League final, when his new captain Sergio Ramos's injury time header denied Atletico glory, leading to Real winning 4-1 in extra-time. "They are all very comfortable at the club and they have encouraged me to make the move and have an worldwide experience". The only pressure I experience is the pressure I put on myself.

Sanchez had previously played in England with Aston Villa and he said: "I always maintained the same desire to return and here I am, with the same mission, with the same desire and dream". I just need to prepare well and be ready as soon as possible for the team.
