Zaha has already rejected the offer of an improved contract in a bid to force a move to a top six club.

Zaha is interested in leaving Palace he had even submitted a transfer request but does not want to leave London, with Chelsea being his most preferred destination.

However, Crystal Palace's valuation of their star player is somewhat astronomical. To add to it, Brazilian winger Willian is also a subject of interest for Manchester United, which has further increased Chelsea's need to strengthen in the wide areas.

The Ivory Coast worldwide has attracted interest from Tottenham and Chelsea, with his contract till 2022.

Zaha, who is now in his second stint with Palace, has previously represented one of Chelsea's biggest league rivals, in the form of Manchester United, in the past. He's very much an integral part of Crystal Palace.

The Ivorian International helped Palace to avoid the drop after a disastrous start to the campaign, scoring nine goals and providing three assists for Roy Hodgson's side in the process.

Zaha, 25, who signed a five-year deal at Selhurst Park last summer, would be irreplaceable for Palace at this stage of the window, and the club would see any attempt to open negotiations as unnecessarily provocative at this late stage.

Chelsea suffered a humbling defeat to Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday and Sarri knows more signings are needed before Thursday's deadline.
