Former Manchester United star sends club serious warning

Mourinho's relationship with United chairman, Ed Woodward has gone bad after the Portuguese accused the club of failing to get him the players he requested for this summer.

The Sun cites one case of an unnamed player in a panic asking the TV channel he gave an interview to erase an answer he gave them.

With no concrete interest from any other foreign club in the player, it is now looking increasingly likely that Martial will stay at Manchester United beyond the summer transfer window, unless he forces through a move to one of their direct rivals.

Jose Mourinho has hit out at Manchester United's transfer window inactivity after watching his under-strength squad crash to a 4-1 defeat against Liverpool in the latest stop of their pre-season U.S. tour.

"I think two is not what I will get".

Manchester United may have been unfortunate with crucial players featuring in the latter stages, such as Paul Pogba and in particular Romelu Lukaku, who is nearly irreplaceable in Mourinho's system. It is our nature and our way to always want more for your team.

"More or less I know (my best team)", the United boss told beIN SPORTS.

"Matic came from the World Cup with an injury and the time he had to rest on holiday was not enough to resolve the problem", Mourinho said.

"I'm not under any illusions about the task I have got in front of me this season and I'm not going to sit here and say I am going to play 30 games this season", he said.

"We basically have the same players". It gets later and later, the season seem to get earlier and earlier and it's really a challenge for everyone.

The Red Devils will line up Leicester against in the Premier League opener on the 10 August at Old Trafford.

"You look to other countries and the countries with lots of players in the World Cup, they start later".

Mourinho has been critical of players who he feels are still on a post-World Cup break and has expressed disappointment in the lack of a transfer market during the tour of the United States.
